Title: The Names May Change...
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] ana_jo & [personal profile] hopeful_romantic
Genre: Legend of the Seeker Picspam Challenge/AU
Rating: PG
Timeline/Spoilers: Whole series
Warning: AU; character death

Notes: This was created for the "Picspam" challenge at [livejournal.com profile] legendland as a joint submission by [livejournal.com profile] ana_jo and myself. [livejournal.com profile] ana_jo created all the very lovely pictures, and I wrote the story.

This is what happens when questions like, what if Kahlan wasn't Richard's first confessor? and, what if Richard chose to take up the role of Lord Rahl after defeating Darken? and, what would Kahlan be like if she had met Richard far later in the story? come up. In other words, this is a very AU story. Yup, we took the characters and ran with 'em. *grin*

So even when corruption in the US military drove him from their ranks, Charles found himself serving his country and her people however he could. It was in doing so, that he found himself injured and near death, having been shot while attempting to defend a small group of travelers headed toward the City. Only he and Alexander, a teenage boy from the group survived. Now he finds himself bound by duty and his promise to the boy's deceased parents, to see to it that he arrives there safely.

Theme Song

Cast Continued:

The former university anthropology professor
Ulysses Rand (played by Joe Morton)

The Professor's Theme

Professor Rand has been fascinated by the Edenist movement since its beginning, but it was only recently that he has found one of their “sacred maps.” More than just metaphor, he, like the movement itself, believes that the City may indeed be a real place. It is as much for intellectual curiosity, as survival that he sets out to find it.

The wildlife biologist/conservationist
Julie Whitman (played by Elizabeth Mitchell)

Julie's Theme

Horrified by the global destruction Julie has seen all around her, she has been fighting for the environment and the conservation of it for as long as she could remember. The daughter of conservationists and biologists, she has been involved in the green movement for her whole life. She has heard that the inhabitants of the City have learned to live with the environment and have developed several technologies meant to combat ecological destruction. It is Julie's hope that she can find the City and bring its knowledge back.
